The Exhibition

America, It’s Also Our History!

Tempora has designed en realised « America, It's Also Our History! », an exhibition dedicated to three centuries of relations between the two shores of the Atlantic.

The exhibition is built up chronologically as well as thematically. No aspect of the transatlantic relationship regarding politics, economics, demographics, culture or human relationships is avoided.

The exhibition is structured around four movements. Firstly European America introduces the visitor to the very first Europeans that set foot into the "New World" and helped build the new State. The second movement, American America, shows how the New World freed itself from European bonds. The third movement, American Europe, evolves around the fact that the Americans came to the rescue, two times indeed, of a Europe that was at the time divided by global conflicts that it couldn't escape from. Fascinated by the GI's and Hollywood, the western part of Europe becomes more American, but that doesn't mean that the supremacy of Uncle Sam is accepted by the whole world without complaint. The fourth and final movement, Europe and America, is in fact uncovering itself before our eyes. It is the period of the fall of the Berlin Wall and a time in which an America more powerful than ever and a Europe in search of its unity, try to redefine their relationship.

An exhibition that reunites savoir-faire and technology. An exhibition that is primarily educational, that uses the past to better understand the present and to

Tempocase

Tempora has developed a 'concentrated' version of the exhibition that can be adapted to any site. In this version the exhibition is set up as a big, open book lying on the ground. The visitor strolls around between the pages of this book and discovers the different 'chapters' of the exhibition along his way. The greatest challenge is to offer him, in a limited space, all the elements of the larger exhibition without using any less of the museographic means that make up the charm and the efficacy of contemporary museography.

The exhibition in the Tempocase format is delivered ready to use with:

- the ensemble of objects;

- content adapted to the host country;

- texts translated in to the language of the host country.

Options:

- editing the catalogue in the desired language;

- editing the educational dossier.

The exhibition can be hosted in spaces as small as 200 m² equipped with power supply.

The Tempora team is at your disposal to help you decide on the best rental formula adapted to your establishment.
